Dear Readers,
The idea of Credit Card Reform is one I've advocated for and talked about for many years. Unfortunately, although we finally did get it on February 22, 2010, it was not the cause for celebration I had hoped for. The law does help consumers in some important ways, but it does not do nearly enough to end credit card company abuses.
The loopholes in the law make it more important than ever for consumers to pay attention to their credit card bills and to all communications from their banks because of the many things the Credit Card Accountability, Responsibility and Disclosure (CARD) Act does not do.
Be aware that credit cards will inevitably become more costly for all users because of:
- A return of annual fees.
- The disappearance of the “grace period.”
- New fees for services not specifically banned in the law.
- Rate hikes for all.
- Lower credit limits.
To help everyone understand the pros and cons of the CARD Act we are offering a FREEWebinar on CREDIT CARD REFORM: What's In It for YOU?, Wednesday, March 10th at 2:00 PM eastern. Join us to learn the good, the bad and the ugly about how Credit Card Reform will impact your life. Click the above link, or the link next to this article to receive the registration invitation.
Wishing you more money-wise days filled with the emotional stability which results from improved financial circumstances, Reeta
